GEORGE HUGHES TO LEAVE KENTUCKY. Lexington, Ky., January 22. George Hughes, manager of Hon. Perry Belmonts Kentucky Stud, which is located at Horse Haven Stock Farm, has resigned his position, to tnke effect February 1. Mr. Hughes will be succeeded by Dr. J. Hum Carter, brother of Dr. It. W. Carter, manager of Ran-cocas Stock Farm, .Tobstown, N. J. No one recognizes more keenly than Mr. Belmont that he is losing a good man, for he offered Mr. Hughes, a considerable increase in his salary if he would remain, hut Mr. Hughes is leaving Kentucky on account of his wifes health. He has decided to go iuto the saddle and harness horse business in New Jersey.
