While some of these horses participated in steeplechase events for three-year-olds last year, the majority of them have never carried the colors through the field. Delcanta won two good races last year, one of them the Harbor Hill Cup at Belmont Part, i - ;-kt rrr -rr f-ri October 12. Fallaheen was second In the Harbor Hill Cup race. Alfar ran second to Delcanta at Belmont Park October 9. Kernel won a race at the United Hunts meeting at Morris Park, the Brandywine it was called, and second to, him was Onteora. Shaekelford won at La-lonia in the colors of George Cochran and It was claimed for him that he could beat anything of his age in the west over the fences. It is evident through the fact of their having been nominated to these stakes, that these youngsters at the jumping game have shown their owners and trainers something worth while, so if they live up to expectations the cross country sport will have quite an array of new material.
