REPORTS PROGRESS AT HAVANA. Andrew Miller, one or the stewards of the Jockey Club, recently received a letter from Secretary A. K. Hernandez, of the New Havana Jockey CItjIi, which tells of the progress in the effort to establish racing at the Cuban capital. The letter, in part, was as follows: "Our enterprise is quite well advanced. We have accomplished a great deal. We have bought the land on one of the finest avenues in the suburbs jf Havana; have concessions from the civil government of the Province of Havana for mutuels and open betting, and are letting out our contracts for the building of a modest, yet sufficient steel structure, for grandstand, clubhouse, etc."
