ATTILA WINS THE FEATURE AT CITY PARK. Minnie Adams the Only Successful Favorite Judge Trevelyan Returns to the Stand. New Orleans, La., February 17. Wade Me-Lemores aged gelding Attila, ridden by NIcol, proved the winner of the American Turf Association Handicap at City Park today. He beat his opponents in handy fashion. Benvollo being the runner up at the end, a length and a half away, with Drexel, the Corrigan representative, third and beaten off. The attendance was large. The spacious stand was jammed, the overflow .making themselves as comfortable as possible iu the aisles and on the spacious lawns. Helgerson and Minnie Adams were the best backed winners of the seven, the latter being the only successful favorite of the day. P. M. Clvill. who has disposed of his entire stable, cut in at City Park this, afternoon as a bookmaker. Presiding Judge Francis Trevelyan, who was laid up all week with a severe cold, put. in an appearance at the track today. Mr. Trevelyan lost twelve pounds during bis illness. Ingolthrlft, which had been running at the old track in the name of J. Powers, started at the -new track, today as the propetty.ofH., C. .Rlddje, who purchased the horse of H. BrolaskI on Wednesday last. F. Bruhns has taken jockey Wishard in charge. The judges had J. U. Strode in the stand before the races this afternoon in referenced to the in and out running of St. Tammany. Strodp evidently explained the matter to their satisfaction, as they dismissed the case.
