Lazell, well ridden, ran forwardly to the stretch entry, where he assumed command and won with plenty in reserve. Kizil was outpaced in the early running, but moved up resolutely in the stretch and, better handled, might have won. Animosity came with a belated rush and finished going fast. Miss Strome came with a tremendous rusli in the last furlong, is a grand looker and will make good. Wilcox, away well, showed speed, but tired in the final drive. The hitter had 110 mishaps, ran a good race and finished resolutely. Captain Nerotli, away in a tangle and poorly ridden, ran a good race. Sonnet showed speed, but tired badly in the stretch. Red Leaf, skillfully handled, was reserved from the early fast pace for the first three-quarters, then moved up fast and steadily and, passing Luretta when a sixteenth out, won well in-hand. Luretta showed fine speed and stayed well, but tired slightly near the end. Broomhandle ran a good race and was an easing up third. Jack Young appeared a trifle high in flesh, but was going gamely in the last quarter and will improve. Lubin ran poorly and can do much better. Mayor Johnson was outpaced after going a quarter and ran poorly. Dave Sommers, badly ridden, closed a big gap and finished going fast. Stand Pat was poorly ridden. Hilee ran to his best form and was a smart contender througiiont. Rather Royal had rough trip, was interfered with repeatedly and, with clear sailing, would have been second. Bravery tired near the end under bad handling. Harmakls had no mishaps and ran a fairly good race only. Los Angeleuo can do much better. Scratched S0105Legatee, 100.
