RACING THIS WEEK AT SHEEPSHEAD BAY. The Great Trial and the Advance Stakes to Be Decided Next Saturday. The most exacting admirer of racing could not ask for better entertainment than has been furnished by the Coney Island Jockey Club in the course of the first four days of its June meeting at Shecpshead Bay. The rapid succession of good things in a racing way will continue through the present week. It is always a stake race day at Shcepshead Bay and the swiftest and best of the day can be depended, on to measure strides over the tracks of this sagaciously administered racing organization. Two stakes will be disposed of tomorrow. They are the Itosbuds, at five furlongs, for two-year-old fillies, and the Grass Selling Stakes, at a mile and a sixteenth, over the turf course, for three-year-olds and over. The probable starters are indicated in the entry lists published today. Two stakes are set for Tuesday, the Zephyr, for two-year-olds, and the always popular Swift Stakes, for three-year-olds and over. Good public performers in the Zephyr, which is at five and a half furlongs, are Oran, Gretna Green. Saracenesca, Sewcll, Bat Masterson, Bemay, Bed Kiver, Monfort, Conville, Senator Clay, Tim OToole, Philander, Master Lester and McCarter. The Swift is a dash of seven furlongs, for three-year-olds. It has at-ways been attractive to owners and has been won by such high class racers as Hanover, Emperor of Norfolk, Reclare, La Tosca, Ajar, Requital, Hamburg, Walcrcolor, Stalwart and Oiseau. In its entries this year, the names of Accountant, Bridge-man, Flip Flap, Hooray, Edna Jackson, Minnie Adams, Whimsical, Security, Sir Huon, Kings Daughter, Ormondalc, Halifax, Bulls Eye, La Sor-ciere. Sir Wilfred, Timber, Brookdale Nymph, Hcaslip and Samson afford abundant guarantee of a rattling good race. The Wednesday stake attraction is the Mermaid Stakes, for three-year-old fillies. Out of an original entry list of fifty-three declarations have so reduced the number that only thirteen eligibles now remain. The distance Is a mile and an eighth and the eligibles, are Lotowanua, ffozeithorpe, Bivouac, Edna JacksoTf,; "Sue, Smith, Early and Often, Sahara, Cousin Eva, Verlbest, Legend, St. Ursula, Perverse anil Honiosclle. On last years form Perverse would be a certain winner, but his form this year lias been somewhat disappointing and it is an open race. Thursday will bring about the twenty-seventh running of the Surf Stakes, at live and a half furlongs, for two-year-olds, and the Shcepshead Bay Handicap at a mile, for three-year-olds and over. The, Surf always brings about an interesting race and with Water Pearl, Charles Edward, Oran, Ballot, Yankee Gun, Paumoiiok, Master Lester, Faust, Bat Masterson, Bed River, Monfort, Belfast, Senator Clay, Prince Hampton, Saghallcu, Philander and Saracenesca among its eligibles can hardly fall to do so this year. The Shcepshead Bay is the second of the June serial handicaps, the first of which, the Coney Island, was taken by T. C. McDowells swift filly. Kings Daughter, Friday afternoon. Hooray, Glorifier, Tiptoe, Blandy, Flip Flap, Dishabille, Water Light, Accountant, Running Water, Ivan the Terrible, John Smulski, Tokaloii, Hamburg Belle, Dandelion, Proper, Dainty, Bedouin, Rosebcn, Aeronaut, Sir Huon, Kings Daughter, Oxford, Merry Lark, Bulls Eye, Inquisitor, Kiamcsha, Tradition, Cairngorm, Colonial Girl, Halifax Jacobite, Good Luck Prince Hamburg, Rams Horn and Dolly Spanker are of the abundant material in this race from which to furnish a grand field of starters. Friday will have the Thistle Stakes for its chief attraction. This is a selling affair at a mile and an eighth witli Right Royal, Prince Frederick, Rapid Water, Nagazam, Aeronaut, Jocund, Merry Lark, Bulls Eye, Inquisitor, Garnish, Halifax, Ormondes Right, Go Between, Phil Finch, Gallavaut, Knight Errant, Bad News, Red Friar, James Reddick and Out of Reach in its entry list. Saturday has two rich and important events down for decision. The 5,000 Great Trial Stakes, for two-year-olds, and the 5,000 Advance Stakes, for three-year-olds and over, at weight for age. The Great Trial, is a dash of three-quarters over the Futurity course and nearly all the youngsters that have won favor, are In with the doughty Puget pair, Water Pearl and Charles Edward. Ballot, Superman, Gretna Green, Ethon, Oran, Paumoiiok, W. II. Daniel, Yankee Gun, Red River, Bat Masterson, Eddie Ware, Beleast, Tim OToole, Senator Clay, Saracenesca and Faust figuring prominently. J1c decision of the Advance Slakes will be awaited with great interest by western folks for. Sir Huon is to make his first eastern start this year in this big race with Oiseau, Accountant, Whimsical, Ornion-dale. Cairngorm, Flip Flap, Kuroki, Security, Proper and Tokaion as probable opponents over its trying distance of a mile and three-eighths.
