Belle Scott began slowly and was outrun for the first three furlongs, but saved much ground when turning Into the stretch and. standing a hard drive gamely, came away in the final furlong. Marmorean showed a high order of speed early, .but swung wide into the stretch, which caused her to lose much groipid. Seven Bells, away well, ran a bad race, was taken unnecessarily wide Into the stretch and and weakly handled near the end and can do much better. La Thorpe was forced to go wide Into the stretch and rau a fairly good race. Bonavcnture showed a brief flash of speed. Prlncipia, away well and at home In the going, wore down Toppy Girl after going a half .and, taking the lead in the stretch, won wll in hand under a mild hand ride. J. P. Mayberry ran forwardly from the start and lasted well in the final drive. Bitter Brown, probably best, was away badly and, bv going wide all the way, lost much ground, but finished going fast and would have been second In a few moire strides. Toppy Girl tired badly after going a half mile. Triple Silver ran in improved form. Lizzie McLean was away too badly to cut much figure in the result. Ovelando suffered from interference In the early stages, was taken wide into the stretch and came fast in the last quarter, but Nicol was clearly outridden and his mount should have won. Lexoline acted fractiously before the start and ran awav a furlong at top speed, then showed the most early speed, but tired after going a half. Berrymair closed a gap and ran a fairly good race. Princess Orna had a rough trip and suffered from crowding in the early stages, but finished fast after going wide into the stretch and outgamed Fortunate. The latter ran a good race and was in the heaviest going all the way. Devout ran a fairly good race only and tired in the stretch drive. The Minks was given a bad ride and caii do much better. Tom Crowe was away too poorly to cut any figure in the result.
