Nannie Hodge, from a Hying start, made the running by open daylight almost throughout and was much the best. Comedienne, the only serious contender, was always In nearest contention with the winner .and finished an easy second. Arabo, after trailing unexpectedly within striking distance, finished well and decisively outstaved the others. Rrldgeman was never, dangerous and, under pressure from the start, was unable to keep "his position. Fantoutle tired badly after forward contention to the stretch and probably wan handicapped by the going. Gold Sifter was outclassed and always outpaced. Grandpa, hard held, was in close pursuit of the pacemaker for a mile and a half, then went to the front and was never seriously menaced afterwards, winning with any amount in hand. Delcanta had no mishaps, was skillfully reserved and always in forward contention, but failed to stay, tiring and fencing badly in the last half. Hylas, more or less interfered with and at a disadvantage from the slow early pace, .came ifast at the end and dropped into an easy third. Goldtleur made the running for a mile and a half, but on sufferance, and held on gamely after being passed by the others. Kernel went well throughout. Fallaheen was choked to a standstill in an effort to rate him in the rear during the early running. Superman beat the barrier arid crossed the others, shutting them off, and set a tremendous pace, leading by open daylight to the Btretch, where he sucenmbed to Oran after a long and game stretch struggle. Arimo, shuffled back on the turn was closing up like a shot at the end and wearing Superman down for second place. Marathon, a grand looker was outpaced In the early running and finished well up. Don Enrique was green and suffered at the start and closed a gap, running a. good race. Linnepee showed early speed.
