Prince Hamburg was sent right out at the start and, setting a terrific pace, tired badly right at the end. Sir Lynnewood. after trailing in the early running, finished with a sensational stretch rim and just failed to get up. China put up a fine effort and was In close and strenuous pursuit of the winner throughout and also tired In consequence in the closing drive. Aeronaut always maintained forward and very game contention and finished wearing China down for third place. Bohemia got away poorly and was badly messed about, but made up a lot of ground in the last half. Nannie Hodge finished well after showing plenty of early speed. Rye outclassed the others at the weights and made the running throughout never fully extended. Water Tank, easily second best, was pinned in next to the mil and pocketed in the early runrting and went very wide on the turn, but finished a fast going second. Klingsor, carried out by AVater Tank on the turn, finished fast after closing a big gap. Our Sister came like a shot from the rear and ran a good race. Adbell was choked back for the first half and failed to respond when called on. Fllmnap steadily improved his position in the last half. Blennenworth was nearly left. Bat Masterson tired right at the end hf strenuous pursuit of the leader, but ran a good race. Philander Is a slow beginner, worked through a rough journey and loomed up menacingly In the stretch, but tired right at the end. Ilardshot went well throughout. Won easily: second the same, nalifax was unruly at the post and delayed the start and finally got away very badly, then trailed the leaders until straightened for home, where he came with great speed and passed them as if they were anchored in the last sixteenth. Ormondale received a flying start and set a tremendous pace, but tired slightly at the end. Brookdale Nymph ran lapped on the pacemaker well in hand for the llrst half, but succumbed in the last quarter and finished tiring baijly and luring out and was not quit keyed up, probably. Fancy Bird practically forced the pace throughout and, under Millers skillful nursing, just got home by a narrow margin in a lucky win. Stimulant was excessively urged and showed the most speed, but tired and succumbed under a whipping linlsli. Mary Morris, always in close pursuit of the leaders, appeared like a sure winner on the last turn, hut awkward riding took "her into defeat while going like a whirlwind. Uobador, shuttled to the rear at the start, closed an immense gap. Uncle Urigh made up a lot of ground from a had beginning and is very good. It. F. Williams was coming, at the end like a whirlwind and ran a cracking race. Huntington finished close up after meeting serious interference. Arabo was badly ridden. Hogan ran poorly. Maxnar was sent along from the start and, getting into the lead while going up the backstretcli, drew clear and, under vigorous urging, maintained Lis advantage to the end of a very game race. Miss Crawford was shntlled back several times in the middle half and finished with a belated rush. Agile moved up rapidly when beginning the last six furlongs and momentarily appeared like winning in the last furlong, but tired right at the end. Dont Ask Me got away poorly and steadily improved her position throughout. Sailor Boy. after early prominence, suddenly dropped out of active contention. Entree failed to stay, but went a good seven furlongs. . , Overweights Dont Ask Me, 2 pounds.
