Bonaventure, showing suddenly improved form, followed the leaders closely and, taking the lead in the stretch, held the others safe to the finish and won well In hand. Poster Jirl broke well and forced the pace In the early stages, but lost considerable ground by going wide into the stretch. Mildrene showed the most early sliced, but found the stiff going too dillicult and was tiring and sprawling badly through the stretch. All Ablaze came from a long way back and finished going faster than the leaders. Bonart. away in a tangle, ran a dull race in the going and can do much better. Jay Swift tired after going a half. Matador, outrun iii the early stages, legau moving up after going three furlongs, went wide into the stretch and, finishing with a rush, won drawing away. Principla liked the going and raced Roscoe into defeat but, tiring in the final furlong, repeatedly bumped into Roscoe, for which she was disqualified. Roscoe showed the most early speed, but failed to stay when driven. Mayor Johnson ran in greatly improved form and was hard ridden, stood a drive gamely and finished going fast. Lizzie McLean saved considerable ground when turning into the stretch and seemed a dangerous contender, but tired in the final sixteenth. Laura Hunter ran a good race, but tired in the last furlong. Harry Scott, suited by the going and well ridden, ran forwardly from the start, took the lead when called on strongly in the stretch and won easing up. Bedford was sent into a long lead from the start and set the pace steadily for the first three-quarters, but tired suddenly in the final furlong and had to be hard ridden to save second place. Brancas trailed hopelessly in the early running, but finished going fast and would have Ieeii second in a few more strides. Miltiades tired after going three-quarters, but showed improved form. Planute. evidently a crackerjack. began slowly and was far back in the first quarter, but weaved ills way through the compact hunch and, standing a hard drive in the stretch with great gameness, won drawing awav. Zal, running to his lest form, showed much speed and, staying well in the final drive, was liest of the others. Yowric was a game contender from the start and ran a good race. La Velta had no mishaps, was well handled and tired in the final drive. Harold D. ran a good race, closed a big gap and was going well at the end. Ovelando broke slowly and, when his chances of winning appeared hopeless. Nicol eased him up. Selene B. showed fine speed for a half and will improve. Gould, badly ridden, closed a big gap and was gaining steadily in the last half. Class Leader followed close up all the way and was a prominent contender until in the stretch, where ho tired. Plcktime showed early speed and ran in Improved form, fenced well, but also tired after getting into the stretch. Fred Priesmeyer tired badly after sroing over three obstacles. Piatt was raced Into exhaustion in the first three-quarters and tired badly in the final drive. Fox Hunting was beaten off, but ran a fairly good race.
