Prestige ran in a contending position for a half and then, disposing of the pacemaker, went to the front and opened up a winning lead. Fanny Blazes kept close to the leaders and ran a surprisingly good race. Winchester, off badly, closed a big gap and, with an even break, might have won. Request finished fast after meeting with much interference. Stoessel, all tangled up at the start, closed a big gap, but was never daugerous. Wabash Queen, ott badly, moved up gradually and, hugging the rail on the stretch turn, saved a half dozen lengths, which gave her the race, as she was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Minos. The latter, also off badly, ran a good race and was in a jam, which might have affected the result. Mary Curtis ran a surprisingly good race anil was only beaten when the finish was readied. Dick Shanley had no mishaps. My Bessie went wide when swinging into the stretch while leading and lost much ground. Mendicus showed early speed. Scratched 3011 Helen H. Peter Sterling was under a drive for the last half mile, but did not have necessary speed to get even in dangerous contention. Harry Stephens ran to his best form at the weights. Kings Guinea moved into a contending position on the far turn and saved considerable ground when turning into the .stretch, finished fast under the whip and was going away at the end. Sans Coeur showed improved speed and wore down Zelinda in the final sixteenth. The latter made the running, but was under pressure all through the stretch. Tom Ollroy, off slowly, came from away back and was wearing the leaders down at-the end. Miss Cesarion had no mishaps. Pedro was cut off at the three-eighths post while in a contending position, fell back to last and came again, finishing with a rush. Redwood II. was wearing the leaders down" at the finish. Miss Leeds showed early speed.
