WHITNEY BUYS -BONNIE STAR FOR 0,000. Forty-five Yearlings from Raceland and Hartland Studs Average ?1,032 at Sheepshead Bay. New York. June 2G. Yearlings from Cateshy Woodfords Raceland Stud and J. N. Camden, Jr.s Hartland Stud were sold by auction today in the Sheepshead Bay paddocks. Of the fifty-two yearlings catalogued for sale ten were passed over and six were not shown. The other forty-five brought a total of ;,4r0, an average of ,032 per head. There was renewed interest among horsemen and a big gathering of interesting buyrs filled the enclosure. Harry Payne Whitney was for the first time an active participant In the bidding, and acquired for ,0, the highest price paid during the day, the presumed star of the collection, Bonnie Star, a half-sister to the famous Blues and Blue Girl. .1.
