Fargo, off well, was crowded back at the start, but hugging the rail, assumed command at tlie half-mile post and opened up a winning lead, was hustled a bit In the stretch, but was drawing away at the end. Miss Gaiety ran close to the leaders and liked the going, but was under punishment in the final strides in a vain endeavor to catch the winner. Falkland was tangled up at the start, closed a big gap and finished fast. Henpecked was weariug the leaders down at the end. Albula ran in greatly improved form. Timothy Wen ran in improved form and waited on Elkslno until straightened out for home, when lie came on fast and won going away, but all out. Elkslno set a merry pace, but unexpectedly tired in the stretch. Crosscut was shuflicd back at the start, took the long way around and finished with a rush. Willowilene was much the best today and found the going to bis liking, oiieued a winning lead on thei backstreteh and was never extended after that. Dan McKenna was hard ridden through the last fjuarter and was all out at the end. Major Daingerfield ran a good race and should soon do. St. Tammany, off well, was crowded back on the first turn, losing a dozen lengths and the effort to make up the lost ground tired him badly in the stretch. Julia M. showed early speed. Charlie Eastman set a fast pace, but tired in the final strides and had no mishaps. La Londe did not show her well-known speed and was never able to get into a contending position, although she made up some ground in the stretch. Bert Osra belongs elsewhere. Request broke well in motion and kept close to Chamblec throughout, appeared to be beaten fifty yards out, hut came gamely under punishment and just got up in time. Cliamblee ran well and his rider lost a race that was won. Minder taking things too easy in the final strides and was caught napping. Pentagon finished with a rush. Edwin Gum begau slowly, but closed a big gap and was going fast at the linlsh and evidently likes a route. St. Noel could never get up. Leiidin showed early speed. Scratched i3323 Jim Beattie. 99. Edgely was saved from the early pace and wore down Waddell II. at the three-quarters post, lost some ground when turning into the stretch and was headed momentarily, but got up again and won going away. Waddell II. was at home in the going and ran well, but finished all out. Henry Waring was Khnflled back at tlie start and lost his early advantage, but ran around his opponents and, finishing with a rush, was wearing the leaders down at the finish and was, perhaps, liest. Steel Trap did not get to running freely until it was too late. Little Red saved ground on the stretch turn and ran Into the lead, but tired when hard pressed.
