Massive ran well and appeared the winner at the head of the stretch, but tired In the final furlong. Avaunteer ran In improving form and outstayed Tuscan for third place. The latter showed the most early speed, hut tired in the stretch drive. Gold Enamel quit badly in the stretch and ran much below his true form. Affinity closed a big gap from a slow beginning, finished with a rush, outgamed Sweet Kitty through the final eighth and won drawing clear. Sweet Kitty showed the most earlv speed and finished samely, but tiring at the end. Crip was a forward contender all the way, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall off the rush of Gulliver. The latter finished fast and will do to remember in heavy going.
