Early Hours, favored by the stiff going and running to her best form, forced the pace for the first half and then assuming command, held the others safe for the rest of the trip and won easing up. Docile was in the best going through the stretch and, finishing resolutelv, outgamcd Lougbright. The latter Buffered from interference 011 the lirst turn and had to close a big gap. Inflammable tired badly after going .1 half. Dainty Dame ran as if she outclassed the others, but seemingly did not fancy the stilt going, raced for-wardly from Hie start and, after wearing down Jay Swift in the stretch, sprawled and had to be hard ridden to get home. Friction, outpaced for the lirst half, moved up gamely after getting straightened out for the stretch run and finished with a rush. La Thorpe liked Hie going and .ran a good race. Jay Swift showed a high order of speed, stayed better than usual and is showing improving form. Bonaveuture had a rough trip and went wide most of the wav. The latter showed improved form ami, saving ground throughout, finished gamelv and ran a good race. Wee Lass put np a good performance and was a prominent contender most of the way. Zlnda ran a fairly good face only. Gauze was shuttled back soon after the start and closed a considerable gap. Mohave ran a poor race and can do much better. Brancas, in splendid form and favored by the going, trailod far back in Hie early running, bnt moved up steadily after going a half and, drawing level with the leaders in the stretch, outgamed Alma Dufour In the final strides. Alma Dufour ran a good race, followed Miltiades closely and, under a hard shaking up, ran by him in the stretch and stood a drive resolutely through Hie last sixteenth. Miltiades showed the most speed for the lirst mile, but found the distance a trifle too far and tired near the cud. Princess Orna was golug well for he first mile, but tired suddenly In the stretch. Kercheval threatened after going three-quartets, but fell back fast In the stretch, being in the deepest going. Frank Mc, well handled and fencing cleanly, was restrained for the first turn of the field, moved up with a great rush when approaching the last field jump and, dashing by Pirate with ease, held the race safe to Hie finish. Pirate put up a good performance and held on well for the entire trip. Fred Irlesmeyer showed speed and fenced well and tired, only to come again in the stretch and outgame Snowdrift. The latter lacked her usual speed and tired badly iu the stretch. New Amsterdam ran a fairly good race. Lights Out can do much better. Gladiator showed speed, but tired near Hie end. Juha was u the deexest going and sulked after going three-quarters. Belltooue quit in the final furlong after showing a great flight of speed.
