FRANK LORD A PAYING INVESTMENT. There Is nothing particularly fancy about Frank Lord, but he is an all around good racehorse and one, of the best investments among the two-year-olds of -I90G. Frank Lord is a chestnut colt by Royal Flush III., out of Miza, by Midlothian. He was bred at J. B. Haggins Rancho del Paso In California, and was foaled February l5, 1901. He was sold as a yearling at Sheepshead Bay, June 17, 1903, to Congressman T. D. Sullivan for 00, Archie Zim-mer, who broke, developed and is training him, doing the bidding. Zinimer got him ready for early racing, and he won the first time out. This was at the Fair Grounds In New Orleans on January 24. It was in a race at three and one-half furlongs, over a good track. He carried his 112 pounds to victory easily in 44. Backed from 15 to 10 to 1, it Is said that his party were on easy street for weeks afterward. To date Frank Lord has started in twenty-two races, winning eleven, finishing second in six, third in one and unplaced in the remaining four. Ills earnings aggregate ,937. In his second start lie ran a dead heat with Bemay in the fast time of 4S seconds for the half mile. That was on January 30. He has to his credit the Elmhurst Stakes, at Jamaica, five-eighths of a mile in l:00f with ninety-seven pounds up, and the Pansy Stakes at Sheepshead Bay, three-quarters of a mile in 1:15, carrying ninety-seven pounds. He can run over any kind of track; has no aversion to weight arid it appears from his racing that he Is the sort of horse that will show Improvement as the distances are increased.
