FRENCH SOCIETY TO AID INJURED JOCKEYS. A number of French owners, with Prince Pierre dArenberg and M. E. FIschhof at their head, have just formed a most useful society for the benefit of jockeys who are the victims of accidents. At a meeting held at the Hotel Continental, in Paris, it was decided that every owner should contribute 0 out of every prize won by their horses in jumping races when the value of the race was under ,00O, and 0 when the value of the race was over that amount. An owners contribution during the year under this rule should, however, he limited to 00. The jockeys are also to be asked to contribute out of every riding fee. The money so raised is to be applied to the relief of jockeys and stable lads who meet with accidents when race-riding or at exercise. The first contributed came from Mr. R. Mills, who won the Prix da la Porte Maillot with his horse. Umber, at Auteuil on Sunday, July 8. About thirty owners have already joined the association.
