Jnunty outbroke the others and Miller outmanoeuvered the jockeys from start to finish, rated Jaunty along in front, saved ground on the turn ,and won out in n hard drive. Orphan Lad, shulHed to the rear at the start and as good as left, closed up steadily an immense gap and got up for second place In a w;hirlwind finish rind going two feet to the winners one and was much the best. Dunvallo maintained close and persistent pursuit of the winner throughout arid ran a game race. Affinity came fast from the rear. Umbrella, away poorly, closed a big gap. EI Capitan ran in close quarters for the first half and finished well. Domiriator showed superior speed for a half mile and tired. Crimson Clover ran In forward contention well iu hand until she bolted on the last turn. Druid, luckily placed for the first quarter, forged to the front on the backstrctch and easily held sway to the end. Miss Rillie, away slowly, closed up steadily, finished like a cvclone and ran a cracking race. Grevilla was In forward and game contention throughout. Dalvay, nearly left, closed a big gap while running on the extreme outsjlde all the wav. Charlatan, a slow beginner and with ari extreme outside position, went very wide on the first turn ami made up a lot of ground, but could never get up until loo late. Blennejiworth, another one that Is out of place li short races and big fields, closed a tremendous gap In the last half. Colonel White shows improving form. Coy Maid, from a lucky start, maintained a forward position early, but unexpectedly dropped back on the last turn and then came agaiu with a rush, just getting home in a lluke race. Bedouin, striding at the start, was luckily and skillfully placed and reserved in the early running, finished out fast through the last quarter and just failed to get up. Inquisitor, shuffled hack early, closed up like a streak on the baekstretch and headed Kiamesha on the last turn, seemingly a sure winner, but tired very badly in the closing drive, was much the best, but was. badly interfered with on the lalt turn and excessively urged in the middle half. Kiamesha, from a flying start, stole a long lead on the first turn and set a tremendous pace for six furlongs and then tired. Fine Cloth ran prominently throughout and is a good horse. Tiptoe, nearly left, closed a big gap and was badly handled. Hams Horn got away badly on tlie extreme outside, was never able to get into serious contention and was out of place in this race. Comedienne jumped into the lead at the start and won all the way in a marvelous display of speed and stamina. Nannie Hodge, outpaced in the early running and carried wide on the last turu, finished with a cyclonic rush. Watergrass held forth in the rear for half the journey, closing up like a cycloue in tlie last quarter. Consistent ran lapped on the winner to the last turn, where she dropped back, hut came again ond was carried very wide on the turn, after which she tired under an inefficient ride. Uandzarra was never dangerous and ran a bad race. Diamond Flush, badly outrun for the first half, closed up a lot of ground at the end. Listless went very well for her. All Right got away slowly, but quickly took a good contending position and finished a close and fast going third. Ocean Spray was badly pocketed on the first turn and closed up In the last half, but seemed dull of speed and can do better. Stoic performed moderately well. Palmdale, shuffled back on the first turn, made up considerable ground, in the last half. Water Tank failed to stay after early brief paeemaklng and ran a bad race. Waterbearer ran poorly.
