NOTES OF THE TURF. President C. S. Bush, of the Crescent City Jockey Club, Is at Saratoga. James It. Keeues stable will, be shipped from Saratoga to Sheepshead Bay next Sunday. It Is announced that Herculold will be a starter In the Beverwyck Steeplechase at Saratoga, Saturday. Patsy Gallagher has given up his license as a trainer of steeplechasers and will confine himself to riding them. C. S. Miller, In whose name Tom Cogan started at Saratoga, Monday, Is understood to be a New York lawyer. At Deauvllle, France, Tuesday W. K. Vanderbilts Acacia won the Prix Consell General and his Second Sight won the Prix Touques. The funeral of Michael F. Dwyer was held in the church of Saints Simon and Jude at Gravesend, Tuesday morning.. The Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, at Flatbush. Frankie ONeill says owning horses Is better than riding them, and since he sold those two yearlings to the Swartz brothers he Is of the opinion that selling is the best part of the owners game. Trainer Joyner does not believe that Water pearl will be long affected by his sickness. He says he may as well lie counted out or the stakes for juve-ulles at Sheepshead Bay, but that he believes he will be ready for his engagements at Belmont Park.
