RAINEY HORSES MAY WINTER AT MEMPHIS. New York, September 21. It has not been decided where the horses in the racing establishment of Paul J. and Roy A. Rainey will be wintered, but trainer May says it is likely that Memphis will be the choice. May has wintered at Montgomery Park the last five or six years and he, likes conditions there. Tlie water Is first rate, the climate is equable and tlie sandy .going is the best thing in the world for spring training. Yankee Consul, one of the crack two-year-olds of last season, was developed at Memphis. The only horses of tlie Rainey establishment May will continue to race hereabouts are De Mund and Heaslip. They are in fine condition. De Mund came nicely out of the Flatbush the other day. will fill his engagement in the Junior Champion Stakes and maybe start a time or two at Brighton Beach. May has not yet found a satisfactory explanation for the poor race De Mund ran in the Great Eastern. He cannot believe there are in the "United States half a dozen two-year-olds capable of keeping up with De Mund the first half mile of any race, yet in the Great Eastern six or seven youngsters, De Mund among them, galloped to the i elbow abreast.
