Garrett Wilson was cut off a couple of times and had to work Ills way up on the outside, but came fast in the stretch run and was going away at the "end. Blue Coat began quickly, rushed to the front and set a fast pace, hut tired when the winner challenged. Bonnie Reg, off slowly and outrun for the first half, finished with a auish. Purslane, a rapid breaker, sprinted into a winning lead in the first furlong, showed great speed .and was well in hand at the end. Charlie Gilbert was always in nearest pursuit all the way and easily best of the others. The race was a procession all the way and Moccasin proved gamer than Capstan when it ca,me to a drive for third place. Chancellor Walworth moved up fast on the outside while rounding the turn into the homestretch, caught the leaders at the sixteenth post and, after standing a gruelling drive, just managed to last long enough to stand off Cambridge. The latter, as usual, finished with a belated rush after trailing for the first seven furlongs and would have won in another stride. Reservation was lucky in squeezing through next to the inside rail on the first turn, was taken back on the backstretch and, coming on fast in the stretch, appeared the winner at the eighth post, but tired in the final drive. Bon Mot ran well to the stretch and held on gamely. Exclamation pulled up lame. Scalper showed improvement. Mamie Etta closed up gamely in the last furlong and outgamcd Bob Edgren when it came to a drive. The latter was used up in chasing the winner. The others are of no account. Lonpanla ran in behind Court Martial until well inside, the final furlong before making a move, then cajne on fast and, catching Court Mnrtlal tiring, won going away. Court Martial set the pace and held a good lead for seven furlongs, then tired like a non-stayer. Caper Sauce finished .fast when too late to be effective. Zellnda showed speed, but failed to stay. Meddling Daisy had a rough trip, was interfered with on the first turn and cut off on the turn out of the backstretch, but came fast in the last furlong anJ won going away. Ballotta forced the pace and did her best, but tired in the last furlong. Toots, outrun In the early stages, finished with a belated rush and just managed to get up in time to beat out Lucy Marie. The latter was on the outside until on the turn into the homestretch, was poorly handled and can do much better. Away and Cicely showed sped, but failed to stay.
