CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE JUNIOR CHAMPION. The Junior Champion is tlie most valuable stake for two-year-olds of the Brooklyn Jockey Clubs autumn meeting and in consequence much coveted by owners. In tlie old days there was a stake of high value of tlie same name run annually at Monmouth Park, but the abolition of racing In New Jersey caused its extinction. Since its revival at Gravesend such high-class youngsters as Mesmerist, Commando, Goldsmith, nighball and Sysonby have won the Junior Champion. Tlie record of its running is as follows: Year. First.
