CALIFORNIA JOCKEY CLUB STAKES. The attention of owners is called to the advertisement Of stakes offered Ty the California Jockey Club, which appears iii the advertising section of this issue. They will find there a duplication of the liberal list offered at this time last year, significant token that the plucky San Francjscans have recovered from the shock of the tremendous disaster that wrecked their fair city and abrubtly terminated the meet ting of 1005-0 last April and, haying reorganized all linos of business, are now ready for amusements. In the opinion of President Williams and others conversant with the situation the coming meeting will draw a patronage greater than that of last winter and there Is ho good reason why owners who have heretofore raced their horses over the San Francisco tracks should not do so again and patronize the stakes now offered, liberally. The California Jockey Club has contributed highly to the -prosperity of owners in the past and it is now up to the latter to reciprocate. All of the stakes except those for two-year-olds of next year, close for entries October 20, the stakes for two-year-olds not closing until -December-S. This give;? time for consideration, but it is well eifough to send 1n entries to Secretary Treat promptly and have done with it.
