HOPPER GOES TO NEW YORK. Cincinnati, O., October 15. E. C. .Hopper, presiding judge and general manager for the New California Jockey Club, was here last night on his way from his home at Ilustonville, Ky., to New York to join President Thomas H. Williams and hondi-capper Horace Egbert in New York. Mr. Hopper said: "The indications are that another, great race meeting will be held at Oakland this winter. The early entries to the stakes presage a higli class meeting. The racing will begin on November 17 and, will continue for 150 days. Hpltman and Dwyer have been engaged to do the starting, and the latter will begin the work. Just how they will work has been left to them. It is reasonably certain that there will be another big influx of eastern horses this winter. The stakes close October 27,. and all of the old features of the San Francisco meeting have been revived."
