IN NEED OF A TRACK SUPERINTENDENT. Lexington, Ky., November 1. While there are some of the horsemen dissatisfied with Lexington as u winter training ground, there are otherswho regard the local track superior to any in the south. Among the latter are Woodford Clay, whose stable met with phenomenal success in the ast this season; Charley nughes, trainer for II. M. Ziegler, and It. Tucker, for several years in charge of the extensive racing string of the late Captain S. S. Brown. The Clay and Brown strings were among the biggest money winners out this season, but, notwithstanding this, trainer Tucker will try the Memphis climate this winter. The sudden departure of some of the trainers from the local track is said to be due to the lack of a track superintendent here since the death of superintendent Murphy several weeks ago. The track, it is claimed, is not kept in good condition, and for that reason some of the horsemen decided to move.
