LOUISIANA TO HAVE A BREEDING BUREAU. New Orleans, La., November I. The New Orleans Jockey Club this winter will purchase a number of thoroughbred stallions and distribute them throughout the state ih order that the class of the horses bred in this state may be raised to a higher stand-ard. President S. F. Heaslip has been watching with deep interest the introduction of high-bred stallions for breeding purposes in New York state, and having concluded that the experiment has proved a decided success he will Introduce in Louisiana the same system. Incidentally the New Orleans Jockey Club hopes by this means to cheek any sentiment against racing In the interior of the state and prevent hostile legislation.
