BRUSSEL TO RIDE AT OAKLAND. New York, November 1. Peter Wimmer says his lightweight jockey, Brussel, will go to California after the autumn meeting of the Queens County Jockey Club. Brussel, like Walter Miller and little Englander, is a Jewish lad. He has been with Mr. AVimmer a couple of seasons, and in spite of three1 or four falls in which he has narrowly escaped death or serious injury, he has lost none of his courage. But he has a lot to learn. lie is not yat highly thought of by metropolitan horsemen and he does not get enough good mounts to acquire the experience he needs. A winter at San Francisco should improve him materially. Brussels father will manage him in California. Mr. AVimmer will remain in this part Of the country. He has a bunch of promising yearlings at Sheepshead Bay he wants to develop In the early spring. Two of them belong to W. OB. Macdonough, of California, who has divided the stable which Is to bear his colors in 1007 among several trainers.
