King Pepper ran a good race and was going gamely at the end. Lighthurn finished going fast after overcoming interfarenee. Lieutenant Rice was poorly handled and off badly, ran a winning race and is in good form at present. Conjuress had a rough trip. Oleasa ran fairly well. Won easily; second driving; third the same. Crafty began slowly, but gained steadily and, going fast through the stretch, wore down Artful Dodger in the closing strides and won going away. Artful Dodger showed the most early speed and led by a wide margin to the final sixteenth, where he began tiring fast. All Ablaze ran fairly well and finished with a rush. Handspike was a sharp factor In the early stages and will improve. Sagapanak ran well to the stretch, but tired badly in the last furlong, Glenarm had no mishaps. Itoberval ran well for a half. Won driving; second and third the same. Dudley, showing his best form, was a forward contender from the start and. finishing gamely when called on for an extra effort, outstayed Belden. The latter, much the best, was poorly handled, but ran a good race and, with a better ride, would have won. Gladiator, showing steady Improvement, was right there throughout and but for forcing the pace prematurely might have won. Larohe, away well, ran a good three-quarters before tiring and will improve. Sanction, poorly handled, ran a good race and closed a big gap. Wabash probably ran the best race of his career and Is worth remembering. Auditor at once trtok a long, clear lead and seemed a certain wlimer, but tired badly when called on sharply in the final drive. Granada put up a game performance and was a lucky third. Darthula had no mishaps and ran fairly well. Dr. Leggo, probably much the best, was given a careless ride and taken Into numerous pockets. Is in good form at present and will reverse this running at an early date. Dr. Sprulll was responsible for most of the crowding that occurred on the first turn. Jetsam was in the act of savaging Merry George when the barrier was released and was practically left at the post. Henry O. showed, the most early speed and tired after going three-quarters as if short. Shining Star ran a bad race and can do much better.
