Voorhees forced the pace until passed at the half by the favorite, which he pursued persistently, overhauled him In the stretch and won out in a tremendous end struggle. Jack Dolan broke slowly and tr.illeil far back to the last turn and, finishing out the last quarter with whirlwind speed, just failed to get up. Gambrinus maintained a forward position from the start and, finishing reJolutely, but hemmed In by tin-other two, was just nosed out. Watergrass kept well up for five furlongs and tired, but was handicapped by the track. Fish Hawk helped to force the early pace and tired badly after going a fast half mile. Sewell raced into a long lead at the half, holding sway to the stretch, where he suddenly tired and was palpably short. Lucy Young Is in poor form. Malacca, from a good start on the outside in the best going, passed the others on the last turn and, finishing well, .but boring out sharply, was going away at the end. Acrobat was a forward and unexpectedly game contender .throughout. Animus, away very badly, closed a big gap and was coming at the end like a cyclone. Hyperbole, badly messed about and repeatedly cut oft on the backstretch, finished with a grea rush. Woolstartle, in deep going all the way and shut off on the turn, tired right at the end. Jersey Lady ran as if short, forced the pace t- the stretch, then tired under a bad ride and can do better. Uoswell, away poorly, made up a lot of ground and is improving. Gold Coin, from a striding start, maintained a place within striking distance of the pacemaker and made good with a game stretch run, scoring a lucky win. Tipping, away badly and shuttled to the rear on the first turn, ran far back to the last turn, where she moved up and, after a rough stretch journey, failed to get uij, but was best. Glvonnl Balerlo set a stiff pace for nearly a mile before he succumbed and was In deep going. Hallowmas broke flatfooted, was sore and fell to the rear at once, but made up a lot of ground in the last half. G. L. M. steadily Improved his position and Is In good form. Merlingo ran prom-iuently for six furlongs and then quit. Rose of Gold was never dangerous and is best in sloppy going. Burnett showed early speed. Barbary Belle, under a pull, made the running by a wide gap for five furlongs and, tiring all over right at the end, was evidently handicapped by the stiff going. Dollle Dollars, always out-nin by the first two, closed up moderately well at the end. Fantastic was unable to raise a respectable gallop and ran a very bad race. Chimney Sweep, under a pull, indulged Wrate Polly with the lead for a mile, then forged into the lead when given his head and won off easing up. Lindale disliked the going, but was able to keep up with the favorite for the first mile and tired in the last quarter. Pirate Polly made the running for u milo and then quit. The latter, away poorly, closed up rapidly In the middle half and put up a game closing struggle, but could never quite get up. Stoic, from a flying start, led for the first quarter, then gradually lost ground, but saved a lucky third place. Adonis dropped quickly to the rear and closed up a lot of ground In the last half. Tarlac showed speed for .sli furlongs, but failed to stay. Overweights Adonis, 2 pounds, ... ,
