King Wilda, favored by a good ride, was saved from the fast pace in the early stages, moved up fast when called on and won well in hand. Wood Claim forced the pace in the early stages and went intrt the lead on the stretcli turn, but tired suddenly in the final sixteenth as if short. Violin came from a long way back in the stretch and finished with a rush. Sneer quit badly after going a half. Marco ran fairly well. AVild Irishman tired badly in the last quarter. The latter began slowly, but saved much ground on the stretch turn and finished with a rush. Solly M. showed speed, but tired badly after going five furlongs. Bertmont quit after going a good half and was short. Mary Candlemas put up a good performance and will improve. The others had no mishaps. La Sorciere showed a high order of speed, but tired fast in the final strides. Palloday ran a splendid race and finished going last. Meadowhreeze, poorly handled and taken wide into the stretch, ran far below his best form and will show improvement. Ralbert had no mishaps. The others were outclassed. St. Valentine, probably best, moved up after going the first three-quarters and appeared a certain winner in the stretch, but tired slightly at the end. Jack Dolan ran a good race and finished with a good burst of speed to get third place in the final stride. Besterling was right there at the end and put up a good performance. Hannibal Bey tired after going three-quarters. Shawana was a poor trailer most of the way and can do better. Athlete ran a poor race under weak handling. The Englishman will improve. Quinn Brady raced Kohinoor into subjection and seemed a certain winner, but was pulled out from the inner rail, permitting J. W. ONeill to get through and was unlucky to have" lost. Arabo came, from a. long way back in the stretcli and finished going gamely and fast. Optional stood the final drlvo gamely and was going well at the end.
