CHARLES WALKER DIES IN NEW YORK. Charles Walker, a familiar figure on nearly all the racetracks in America, died Wednesday night at the German Memorial Hospital In New York after an operation for appendicitis. The body was interred in the Lutheran Cemetery Thursday afternoon. Walker was the owner of Now or Never, a smart handicap horse a few seasons back, and also Integrity, which he purchased at the dispersal sale of Nathan Straus when that horseman and his partner, former Mayor Hugh Grant, decided to quit the turf. Other good ones in Walkers string were Turk IL, one of the stars of the Gloucester track; Joe Ripley, a fine sprinter; Arthur Davis, and others.
