Bill Curtis was easily best, rushed into an easy lead when turning into the backstretch and. drawing away,, won cantering. Freesias, under a gentle hand ride, held Van Hope safe all through the final eighth. The latter was under a hard drive through the last eighth and finished gamely. In a desperate drive, got up to -win in the final stride. Coin-mida, under the whip through the last eighth, threatened to bOlt and was tiring palpably in the last fifty yards. Hazeline stood a last eighth drive gamely. Winsome Ways finished fast. Montalban showed early speed, but quit and can do better. The Irishman displayed keen speed throughout, carried Confessor very wide when turning for home and held bini safe all through the final eighth, -finishing fast. The latter forced a sharp pace on the far turn and stood a long stretch drive resolutely, but was liot good enough. Sas was Ircky to be so close up at the finish, saved much ground by swinging to the rail when .1 quarter out and finished gamely under the whip. It was strictly a three-horse race. Stone made hp ground fast in the final quarter and was easily best of the others. Treasure Seeker was speedy, but tired palpably when an eighth out. Ilipotcca went well for a half mile. Salina showed much the most speed throughout, never leaving the result in doubt. Sir Carutheis, badly crowded out of position just after the start, had to go around on the outside after entering the baofc-stretch and but for interference might have been closer up, ran well and finished gamely under the whip. Colonel Rronston showed speed, but tired fast in the filial eighth. Colonel Jewell and Colonel B. raimar quit after showing early speed. Scratched 057132J. F. Donohue, 107. Creston Boy got off Hying and showed the most speed all the way, but tired fast in the final hundred yards and won a lucky race. Judge Treen made up ground fast in the final eighth next to the inside rail and had to pull out around Creston Boy in the closing strides or he would have won. Molesey had little ehanco after the start, but was persevered with throughout and making up ground steadily. Mintia ran a bad race and can do better. Woodthorpe showed speed. Lille B. was short.
