ORCHAN IS MEDrUM OF A HEAVY PLUNGE. His Race of Saturday Is Thrown Out by Betting People Oakland Gossip. Oakland, Cal., December 3. The usual big attendance today attested to the undiminished interest in racing here despite the moderate card. Comilfo and Orchan were the only successful favorites, the latter- being the medium of a plunge. Saturdays defeat was not taken seriously. The stewards fined Dr. Rowell 0 for being late with Plausible in the second. Barney Sclu-eibers filly Marion Rose, was bid up from 00 to 1906.sh00 by Paddy Lynch, but was retained. Yo San, in the third race, fell a sixteenth out. She was wedged between Titus II. and Mimo. It was I a bad looking fall. Jockey Knapp escaped without being hurt. His mother and sisters, occupying a 1kx, were badly scared. Mclntyre was suspended for one week by the starter "in the first race. Running at the barrier was his otlenso.
