At post 5 minutes. Start good. Won easily; second driving; third the same. Monere, away well and running to his best form, was a forward contender fronrthe start and, after wearing down Isabel Aintree in the stretch, came away and won easing up. Mazie ONeill began slowly, but closed a big gap and was gaining fast through the last quarter. Duchess of Montebello ran a good race and was right there all the way. Spider Web had no mishaps and tired fast after going a half. Gold Duke ran fairly well. Isabel Aintree showed superior early speed, but tired and quit badly in the stretcn. Dargin, showing good form, went wide throughout, but finished fast, stood a hard drive gamely and got up in the final stride. Bill Phillips, away running, showed a high order of speed, but was tiring in tae last sixteenth. Wild Irishman ran a good race and but for being in close quarters in the last furlong might have won. J. W. ONeill, poorly handled, came with a good burst of speed through the stretch and finished close np. Tyrolian tired after going a half, hut ran a good race. So did Tom Mankius. Charlie Eastman broke fully in motion and took the lead at once, set a fast pace and held La Sorciere safe at all stages. The latter was in close quarters during the first three furlongs and had to go wide into the stretch, ran a good race, but was tiring slightly near the end. Palloday was a close contender for the first half, but tired fast in the last furlong and barely lasted long enough to stall off Polly Prim. St. Valentine ran a good race and moved up resolutely after going a half, but was not good enough to beat the winner. Dr. Spruill tired after going three furlongs and then came again, forcing St. Valentine to a hard drive to retain second place. Devout ihad no mishaps. Voting had much the best of the start and dashed into a long lead in the first half, but was tiring fast in the stretcli drive and barely lasted long enough. Jaeonio began slowly and had to overcome a lot of interference, but finished witli a rush and would have won in a few more strides. Billy Vertress ran forwardly from the start and will improve. Windfall ran well and finished gamely. Cora Price got away poorly anil had scant chance. Solly M. had a rougli trip, was nearly thrown several times and was eased up when ills chances appeared hopeless. Doric ran well to the stretch. Grace George ran poorly. Orly trailed the others for the first half, then moved up fast when called on and won witli plenty in reserve. Padre came fast through the stretch and was going resolutely at the end. King Wilda showed the most speed for the first three-quarters, but tired in the stretch drive. Dromlo ran a good race. K2ng Ellsworth had scant chance with a poor rider and can do much better, was taken far back in the eicrly stages and closed a big gap.
