TEXAS PROMISES WELL FOR RACING. Memphis, Tenn., December 3. M. N. Macfarlau, secretary of the Memphis Jockey Club, returned I today after presiding at the meetings at Houston, San Antonio and Slireveport in the Texas-Louisiana circuit. "The Shieveport people have a mile track," said Judge Macfarlau, "and another year will witness a great meeting. They had miserable -weather, but turned out in large numbers just the eanie. The track was always deep in mud. At San Antonio there wasthe usual good meeting. There 3s a great future for racing in Texas."
