Midmont, from an outside standing start, headed the others in the first quarter and drew into a clear lead, then, in a hard stretch drive, outstayed MIna Gibson at the end. The latter was on the inside and shulIleU back repeatedly and, in a belated rush at the end, barely failed to get up. Black Sam, after forward pursuit of the winner, finished an easing up third. Prince Nap, from a flatfooted start, closed a big gap In the last half and is improving. Soledad finished well up. Modesia was short, showed superior early speed and is promising. Marion Rose quickly developed superior early speed, drew out and, spreadeagling the others, won in a canter. Peerless Lass, from a good start, was always one of the near pusuers and saved a lucky second place. Peligroso, away very badly, closed a big gap and was going like a cvclone at the end. Radium Dance ran forwardly for five funJongs, then dropped back and came again. Plausible failed to stay and is strictly a mudlark. Jezebel finished gamely and was gaining in the stretch. Triumphant had no mishaps and was outpaced .in the last half. Banlada was closing up in the stretch. Mabel Hollander was Oracti-cally left. Overweights: Radium Dance, 1 ponnd; Jezebel, 1. Distributor was away poorly, but gained steadily, came through on the inside in the stretch when a f.ir-long out and appeared an easy winner, but was suddenly challenged and brought to a sharp drive. Metla-katla, from a-liatfooted start, was shuffled to the rear, then closed an immense; gap and was going like a shot at the end. Soundly set a fast pace and stayed gamely in the closing struggle. Sliced showed speed for five furlongs. Titus II. was short and showed superior early speed. Minw made up a lot of ground from a poor start. Marie II. got off badly. Little Buttercup is short. Chief Wittman, nearly left, closed an immense gap under a bad ride and is very good. Banposal showed speed for five furlongs and was short. Jim Pendergast closed a big gap in the last half. Mai Lowery, away poorly, made up ground in the last six furlongs Byronerdale quit badly after going a good half and sulked. Monaco Maid wa? prominent for seven furlongs and probably a trifle short. Lazell, nearly left, closed up rapidly on the far turn, but was never in serious contention. Benvolio trailed under a pull and was taken in behind the others in the stretch in a doubtful performance.
