ABOUT THE TWO-YEAR-OLDS. Bonnie Bairn, which is in the stable of W. .1. Speirs at Los Angeles, was bred in the I.aichmoiil Stud and was knocked down at the yearling sales last June to Henry Stull. the artist, for 75. His sire. Braw Lad. was the horse that gave J. O. Keene his first lift in the direction of the ownor-ship of a good farm near Lexington. Ky.. anil tin-big stable of horses he is now campaigning at Oakland. Anna Woodard. the dam of Bonnie Bairn, is a young mare by Hindoo. She is a full sister to Belle Isle, the dam of Baby Dixon and Pr. Windell. Gigaua. which has carried the colors of Mrs. T. M. Cooper at Ascot Park, was bred at the Rancocas Stad and was sold as a yearling to A. L. Aste for 01. Her dam is the Glenelg mare Troyana. the dam of Monte Carlo, winner of the Surf Stakes in 1002 and a good campaigner the past four seasons. Early Tide. In the stable of H. T. Griffin at Ascot Park, was bred in the Eton Stud, and was sold as i yearling to E. Wayland for 50. Being by Peep oPay and out of Ebb Tide, he is very appropriately named. Ebb Tide is aJso the dam of the winners Stella W.. Heroine and Tide. Rebel Queen, in the stable of "Frisco" Gardner at New Orleans, was bred in the Millbrook Stud and cost her owner only 00 as a yearling, but she comes from a race winning family. Her sire is Box. erratic, but rapid and a bread winner for fair. Southern Girl, her dam, was herself the winner of about a dozen races, but more than that she is a full sister to Spencerian, which, for two seasons, was Hart Peruhams meal ticket. Sarah Pavis, the dam of Southern Girl and S]ienoorian, was also the dam of Stroud and was the full sister to Roy, winner of 43 races, and Express, winner of sixteen races. Through Heraldry this filly goes back to Margaret Woods and old Marie West. She ought fb win races. My Bill, which has carried the colors of C. E. Darnell at Oakland, was bred at Pr. Cans farm in Tennessee. He is a full brother to Qui Vive, being by Gotham, out of Alertie. He was sold to W. A. McKinney as a yearling for 00. Thomas Calhoun, which is now In the stable of H. T. Griffin, comes from the Request Stud. He is by Knight of the Thistle, out of Tantalize and was .-old aa a yearling to II. Gardner for 7."!. His dam is a half sister to Humming Bee, which won the Cnarmingfare Stakes at Salem last summer, and also a half sister to that good race horse F. F. V. Creston is out of Cherub, a half sister to Meadow -thorpe and Ballyhoo dam of Ballyhoo Bey. H. T. Oriffiu bought Creston for 00 as a yearling. Cherub ia also the dam of Symphony. Bendaga was bred at Pixiana Farm. His dam. Beldaga.-is a half sister to Ben Chance, winner of ."•:. racea. F. J. Farrell paid 00 for Bendaga as a yearling. Lula B. was bred by H. P. Wood at Frankfort. Kv.. and was sold for to John Manuion in the paddock at Douglas Park last September. She is a sister to Laysou. She is a very dark brown hlly with no marks. Water Goolor. in the stable of W. F. Brysou at New Orleans, is a half brother to The Roustaltout and was bred at Elmendorf Stud. J. O. Keene bought him as a yearling for 2." . His dam, Beetle, is a sister to Peter .1. and Tim Payne. Connie M. is the first foal of Lotto, a half sister to Punter and to Mortgaged, dain of Legal Form. Connie M. was bred at Elmendorf and was sold to W. P. Millard for 36 as a yearling. Poem is another that was bred at Elmendorf. She i- by Watercolor, out of Prosaic and therefore a half sister to Pontotoc. She was sold as a yearling to Captain Jim Williams for £0. May Newman is a sister to Port Worth and was sold last September to S. T. Smith at Louisville for only 5. She w..» bred in the Fleetwood Stud. Her dam. Pennyworth, is a young mare by Blue Eyes. Coincident is a half sister to Cousin Kate, and was bred by W. P. Knight at Nicholasville. Ky. W. H. Snyder bought her for 00. Her dam, La Cheviot is a half sister to Eight Bells and Eleven Bells. Prince Bowling is a full brother to Boserrian. He was bred in the McGrathiana Stud and Fred Burlew 1 aid 50 for him as a yearling. His dam, Princess Bowling, was a good stake winner. Wilmore is out of Blitzens sister, as her name applies, a sister to the "iron horse" Blitzen. Wilmore was bred in the Spendthrift Stud and was sold ou July 4, last to B, 0. Koss tor 1907.sh00.
