Pepper left his widow at Meadowthorpe stud the stallions Meadowthorpe. Resolute II. and Prince Pepper, thirty five broodmares and eighteen yearlings. .s Mrs. Pepper has decided not to sell the farm, she will, probably, retain the stallions and broodmares, with John offutt. her brother, as manager. The yearlings will be dispi seil of in July or Sepiembor. Among the mares which are in foal this year are the dams of Kiugs Courier. Roxane. Kentucky Colonel. Prince Pepper and Miltiades. Kings Couriers dam. Stylitine. is in foal to Kingston, so her produce will 1* either a full brother or a full sister to the American bred winner of the Poncaater Cup. Running together in one of the paddocks at Ham burg Place are the splendid broodmares Tarantella. with a record of ten winning sous and daughters. Imp. the first mare to win the Suburban Handicap, and Mamie Worth, which daughter of S. George once defeated the sensational llermis. Mamie Worths coming foal will be her tirst. The mares al Paytonia stud will be cut down to fifteen head by the time the next breeding season begins. George c. Graddy has decided to not overtax Tithonus in the future and if he retains over fifteen marcs he feels like he would have to pur chase another stallion, which he does not desire to do. He says: "No breeder can afford to send mares to outside horses of note at the fees now being ashed by owners of leading sires." Ben Strome has been placed on the private list this season and only mares owned at Pixiana farm will be bred to the sire of Highball, Rosebou and Eugenia P.iiroh in PK 7. At Kenwood stud there is a yearling half brother to Arsenal.
