MISS ALERT IS POORLY RIDDEN. Detroit, Mich., June 20. The weather and track conditions for racing today at Windsor were ideal. Three favorites won. but the talent was sorely disappointed over the failure of Miss Alert in the race at a mile. Miss Alert was considered the best thing of the day, and the short price laid against her was eagerly accepted. Intelligently ridden, the lilly would have won. but Gaugel came wide on the turn for home and allowed Factotum to come through next to the rail and take the race by a length. The steeplechase was won by the favorite, Lulu Young, in a canter. Full of Fun was easily the best of the others and had no contention for second placu. Hurricane made a bad landing after clearing the last jump and unseated his rider. Williani Gerst arrived from Cincinnati io straighten up the affairs of his stable. Mose Gold-blatt has bought the bay gelding Matabon from Mr. Gerst for a private consideration. Peter Sterling was shipped to Lalonia tonight to run in the Queen City Handicap. Jockey D. Boland will have the mount on the Lord Esterling colt. The judges lined Mose Goldblatt 25 for bringing Rebo to the paddock late for the first race.
