Lady Fesca, away poorly, showed much speed and, being well handled, held the others safe after taking the lead on the stretch turn. Marcus Aurelius, much the best, was shuttled back soon after the start, had to go wide through the last three furlongs and, finishing gamely under a hard drive, was wearing the winner down fast at the end. Gracious Dame, away in a tangle and suffering from slight interference, finished with a rush, but was lucky to get third place. Scratched C05C0 Wine Merchant, 110; CS0C1 Bayou St. John, 110. MeChord, away fast and clear of interference, ran into a long lead at once and, maintaining his speed well, won in a canter. Foreigner, saving ground throughout, ran a good race and finished fast. Demo, in close quarters for the first three furlongs and suffering from interference, finished gamely and was best of the others. Marmorean ran fairly well and tired in the stretch run. Husted, going wide most of the way and suffering from interference, ran a good race. Barnsdale, away in a tangle, showed scant speed and can do much better. Stouer Hill was urominent for a half and tired. The winner was entered for 500; no bid. Won easily; second driving; third the same. Joe Shields, running to his best form and clear of interference, forced the early pace and, after wearing down Henry O., shook off Incubator and came away with plenty in reserve. Henry O. ran a good race and outstayed Incubator through the last furlong. The latter ran prominently all the way. Oberon closed a big gap from a slow beginning and finished resolutely. Miss Hawley, repeatedly crowded and interfered with, had scant chance and can do much better. Athena was caught in a jam on the first turn and badly cut down. Docile was also caught in the jam and unseated her rider. The winner was entered for 500; no hid. Overweights Henry P., 3j pounds; Monochord, 4; Quickrich, 1. Lexoline, away in the first flight, forced a fast pace from the start and went a trifle wide into the stretch but, standing a hard drive gamely, wore Cablegram down in the last few strides. Cablegram, lucky throughout and saving much ground, showed superior speed, but tired slightly after going three-quarters. Old Honesty had a rough trip and was repeatedly impeded, but finished fast. Harry Scott trailed distantly in the early stages and, although going wide into the stretch, finished with a great rush. Envoy was sideways at :he start, but went around the others and dashed into contention on the stretch turn, but tired in the last furlong. Tanglewood, poorly ridden, can do much better. Princess Orna, away well, was sent into a long lead at once and, setting a fast pace, won all the way with plenty in reserve. Sultry gradually decreased a big gap separating him from the winner in the early stages and finished fast and gamely. Scalplock, away slowly, trailed far back in the early stages, had td so all around the others after rounding the first turn and ran an excellent race. Florizel suffered from slight interference soon after the start when Princess Orna cut sharply across from an outer position, followed dose up for the first half, but tired in the final drive. Matador found the track too hard for his bad feet and ran poorly. Marsailles quit after going a half. The winner! entered for 400, was bid up to S00 and bought in. The latter came from a long way back in the last half, but tired slightly iu the final strides. Blaze oLight began slowly and, iiltliough going wide, came with a rush through the stretch and took third place in the last stride. Tinker ran a good race and also closed a big gap. Dele Strome began slowly and was badly outpaced throughout. County Clerk can do much better and lacked speed In the early stages. Webber showed superior early speed, but quit badly after going three-quarters. Careless was a forward contender for a half. The winner was entered for 400; no bid. Scratched C95G4 Anna Ruskln, 82.
