AVon easily; second driving; third the same Alauda showed marked improvement over his most recent form, ran in a good position throughout and came away fast at the end. Risk wis close to the leaders in the early running and, finishing fast, just got up for second place. Masson improves steadily, closed up much ground and just got third place from the tiring Hiacko. The latter set the pace fast and was tiring at the end from his early efTort. Treasure closed a big gap. Rustle ran poorly and can do much better. Una showed much early speed, but failed to slay. AVorkinan ran a good race, weights considered. Belcast finished fast and gamely. Rifleman closed a big gap from a bad start. Pretension got off poorly, but ran a bad race. The winner, entered for ,500, was bid up to ,300 and bought in. After getting oft slowly and trailing far back for a half, Tony Faust came through the stretch with a tremendous burst of speed and won drawing out. Kings Daughter dashed into the lead at once and, retting a fast pace, appeared to have the race won, but succumbed at the end of a fast and game effort. Dreamer, speedy and always in the front division, ran a good race, but tired in the final strides. J. C. Ore ran a fast race and finished gamely and close up. Halifax finished in close quarters and did not show his usual early speed. Peuarris and Sir Lynnewood were close up at the finish. De Muud was never dangerous.
