PEN D ERG AST WILL LOSE A LEG. New Orleans, La., .Tune 21. Jockey J. Pender-gast, who was a promising rider in Canada last summer, suffered a severe accident in the third race at the local merry-go-round today, when his mount. Orderly, fell as a result of bleeding. He was thrown Into the fence and his left leg was so badly broken that amputation will be necessary.
