Red Hussar, off well, dropped out of contention on the far turn, but came again, after being straightened out for the final iun and finished fast. Reside raced Gargantua into defeat and hung on gamely at the finish, o Gargantua showed early speed, set and forced a fast pace and hung 011 gamely. King of Troy ran well for a half only. Senator Paynter showed the most speed and sprinted into a long lead in the first quarter, but was compelled to 2o his best at the end to stall off the rush of Frescati. The latter, always in closest pursuit, was wearing the winner down at the end and would have won in another stride. Abrupt, compelled to go to the outside to get into a contending position, finished gamely. Fare had bad racing luck, was in close quarters all the way down the backstretch aitd to the turn for home and came fast when clear. Drop Stitch tired. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Rather Royal set a fast early pace and tired in the stretch, but came again and outgamed Imboden for second luce. The latter ran a sparkling race and will do to remember when properly placed.
