Rosehen indulged llaensel with an early advantage and forged into a long lead in a twinkling in the last furlong and was never extended. llaensel made the running by open, daylight to the stietch before he gave way to the favorite and was never seriously menaced for second place. Berwick, away slowly and outpaced in the early running, finished fast. Comedienne maintained close pursuit of the leaders to the stretch, where she tired badly as if short. Cressina was pulled up early and leisurely ridden in the rear throughout. Johnnie Morgan showed moderate early speed. Scratched 09513 Diuna Ken, 119. Spooner ran lapped on the pacemaker for three fnrlongs, then drew out under the whip on the turn and made good going away finally, is a game colt and was best. Nimbus raced closely with the winner to the final sixteenth, where he tired and swerved to the inside under punishment. Halket came fast from the rear and loomed up menacingly midway of the stretch, but tired in the closing strides. Master Robert was a prominent contender to the last sixteenth. Rialto came from the rear and linishin like a shot, in a cracking effort, lleknows was: a beaten off sixth, but easing up. Miss Norfolk, away poorly, closed a big gap. All Alone was nearly left and only cantered the journey. Dead Gone was crowded out at the start. Sanguine, quickly shtillled back, improved his position on the outside, but was never really danger-. ous. Ran Avis, well up for the first half, was pocketed on the inside in the closing drive. Hollister, away tlatfooted and shuttled back repeatedly and messed about, came linallv with a belated stretch sprint. George Considlne appeared sore in front, but was well up at the end. Magazine showed superior early speed, but failed to stay. Boas showed brief early speed and ran a bad race. The winner was entered for ,000: no bid. First Mason, well up and reserved patiently to the strelch, loomed up with a menacing challenge, but tired finally and is becoming good. Banker, away slowly, trailcll to the last turn and moved up fast, but quit finally and pulled up lame. St. Valentine showed superior speed In pacemaklng for a mile, then quit badly. Helena C. showed early speed. Bartender finished pulled up. Thistledale got into the lead In the first quarter and set the pace through the middle half, gave way readily to the winner, but finished a game second. Golden West held a brief lead and maintained close pursuit of the pacemaker until in the last fifty yards, then tired. Prince Ching, away poorly, closed an immense gap in the last three-quarters and ran a cracking race. Onatas, away poorly, made up ground steadily. Von Tromp ran in close quarters, probably sulked and tired after looming up in the stretch. Lord Stanhope, badly messed about, finished well. Andrew Mack was nearly left.
