BETTING AND TIME STATISTICS. In a betting way there was little difference between the meeting just closed at Sheepsheail Bay and that of the Coney Island Jockey Club for the same period last year. During the seventeen days in 1000 105 races were run. The winners were ."5S favorites, 22 second choices and 15 outsiders, showing :iJ per cent winning favorites, about 8 per cent below normal. This year 107 races were decided during the seventeen days from June 20 to July 0, inclusive, mid the winners were J!7 favorites, 22 second choices and 4S outsiders 1!5 per cent winning favorites. There were eighteen odds-on favorites during the meeting and seven of them were defeated, Koseben had his measure taken twice at 1 to 2. Phantom lost at the same price. The others were Colonel White, o to 5; Aimee C, -1 to 5; Court Dress, lo to 20 and Garrett, 1 to 3. The shortest price about a winner was 1 to 5, Koseben, July o. The longest was 00 to 1, Baby Wolf, In the Swift Stakes, June 20. There were three winners at u0 to 1, four at 20 to 1, two at 15 to 1, five at 12 to 1, and six at 10 to 1- Five favorites won on July " and there was no day on which all of the first choices were defeated. The track was fast thirteen days, but no track records were broken or equalled. The fastest mile was fOg by Ilye; with 100 pounds, July 1, and Dinna Ken with 111 pounds July 5.
