Caper was favored by the going and showed the most speed to the stretch, where, after a slight shaking up, she came away and won well in hand. Marmoreau ran forwardly from the start and appeared the winner in the stretch, but tired near the end. Vlperlne, poorly ridden, elosed a big gap from a slow beginning and finished with a rush. Moscow Belle, showing sudden improvement, favored by the going and clear of interference, took a slight lead at once and, running gamelv, held on well and lasted just long enough. Ed Kane, much the liesr, was poorly ridden and allowed to get in a jam soon after the start, which knocked him far back, then closed a big gap in the stretch and, finishing with a rush, was fast wearing the winner down. Cheswar-diuo bad no mishaps and tired in the last quarter. Wine Merchant was a game contender in the early stages and tired in the last quarter. Lavatrina ran poorly and disliked the going. Lcxoline was slightly interfered with at tne half-mile ground, but finished gamely and outstayed the poorly ridden La Veita. The latter began slowly and was taken wide most of the way, finished fast and was gaining at the end. Funiculaire tired after txiiiK a Ise contender for a half. Blue Pirate ran a good race and was always a forward contender. Class Leader tired fast in the stretch, but held on well in the final drive. Injectable was a distant trailer throughout. Pendragon acted fraetiously at the post, but showed much speed for the first lound of the Held and quit badly in the stretch. Pete Vinegar showed scant speed and can do much lietler.
