LEADING THREE-YEAR-OLDS OF 1907. They are Showing Up Splendidly in Competition with the Older Horses. The three-year-olds of 1907 are more llian holding their own with the older horses. Up to date they have won an even dozen of tin? valuable stakes in which they competed with horses of advanced ages. Superman won the Brooklyn Handicap, Okenite the Sterling Stakes, Zambesi the Brookdaie Handicap and Frank Gill the Equality Stakes. These races were won last year by To-kalou, Roseben, Go Between and Hamburg Belle, respectively, and they were all five-year-olds. McCarter won the Cosmopolitan Handicap, Zambesi the Pocantico Handicap, Jack Atkin the Claro-mont Handicap, Montgomery the Jockey Club Weight for Age Race, Peter Pan tin: Standard Stakes and Advance Stakes, Tony Faust the Coney Island Handicap and Tileing the Queen City Handicap, in all of which three-year-olds were victorious last year. It will be well, therefore, to figure closely the chances df three-year-olds for such good races yet to be decided as the Annual Champion, Century, Brighton Handicap, Brighton Cup, Snratoa. Handicap, Saratoga Cup, The Great Republic, the Invincible Handicap and the Twin City Handicap. Twenty three-year-olds have won more than ,000 this year, and incidentally six of them Peter Pan, Superman, Caboclion, Zambesi, Court Dress and Philander belong to James R. Keenc. McCarter and Saraeinesca are In the Newcastle Stable; Dinna Ken is In the Whitney string; Montgomery, once a distinguished westerner, now belongs to Eniil Hens; Frank Gill is the property of J. L. MeOin-nis; Sir Toddington is in L. Mulligans barn; Okenite represents August Belmont; Salvidere carries Thomas Hitchcocks colors and Tileing is the property of .Tallies II. McCormick. The other five are owned by westerners M. Coldlibi;tts Fantastic; C. R. Ellisons Yankee Girl, J. S. Hawkins Wing Ting, C. E. Durnells Temaceo and AV. J. Youngs The Abbot. Of these twenty Caboclion, Dinna Ken, Montgomery, Phllauder, Saraeinesca, Sir Toddington, Temaceo, The Abbot, Tileing, Yankee Girl and Zambesi were not In the list of the forty-seven two-year-olds of 1!0C that won $.".,000 and over. The eight that had the distinction of winning over 0,000 last year were Peter Pan, Salvidere, Electioneer, De Mund, Waer Pearl, Court Dress, Ballot and Oran. Wafer Pearl Is dead, but Peter Pan Is the only one that has come to hand early with heavy winnings. De Mund has been tried and found lacking. Oran lias not come on, but the others are In racing trim and it Is to be expected that they will sustnin the prbmise of their two-year-old form. The following list of fifty-eight horses embraces the forty-seveu that won ,000 as two-year-olds last year and eleven others that were below that figure in 190C that have earned ,000 as three-year-olds, these figures "covering the racing from January 1 to and including July 0: Won Horse.
