JOCKEY ONLEYS UNIQUE CAREER. George Onley, who rode Fountainblue to victory in the second race at Slieepsbead Bay Monday and was presented with ,000 by owner James B. Brady, conies from a family of riders, being the. son of Waldo Onley and nephew of Harris Onley, though the accepted spelling of the name until this year was Olney. Both Harris and AVaMo rode for George and Pierre Lorillard, and in their time were jockeys of class. Waldo married the daughter Of John Krcyer, a liotelkeeper in New York and is still employed about the stables at Slieepsbead Bay. George Onley has held a jockeys license since 100::, though he has done little riding. In all of that time lie has had only fifty-eight mounts, riding live winners. He began his service with J. II. Can-and when J. B. Brady bought Mr. Carrs stable1 in Kings Highway, the boy entered his employ. He had his first mount on E. Steeds Albany Girl at Kenning, December 1, 1003, and the next day finished third with .Mr. Carrs Courtmahl. His first win was on Courtmaid at Buffalo, June IS, 1001. That year he had forty-three mounts. In 1005 he had eight. Last year he had two. Tills year he has had six mounts and has ridden three winners.
