PHOTOGRAPHER WINS AT TORONTO. Takes Handicap at Odds-on Strectt Gets Second Call on C. Koerner. Toronto, Out.. Septemlier 20.- A very ordinary rani was offered Woodbine patrons this afternoon. There were six races on the program, the features lieiug a selling steeplechase and the Dominion Handicap, the conditions of which confined entries to horses bred in Canada. The latter event proved an easy thing for Photographer. He was heavily baeked .and went to the post an odds-on favorite. In the early running Photgrapher had a rough journey, being sharply cut off and interfered with several times. Not until straightened out for the stretch run did ho find an opening, and when Koerner let go his wrap Photographer dashed to the front and, drawing away in the last sixteenth, won with plenty in reserve by a couple of lengths. In the steeplechase John . Cavanagh made an exhibition of his field. Before lliey had gone two furlongs lie opened up a lead of a dozen lengths, and at no fctage of th; trip was ho in danger. At the finish Hufhani had Iiitu well in baud. A carload of horses which was made up of a division of Edward Trotters stable, and the string which James McLaughlin is handling for M. P.. Spaulding, was wrecked In the. yards of the Grand Trunk at Fort Erie yesterday, and several of the liorses were severely injured. G. R. Morris has arranged to ship his stable from here -to Latonia Sunday. They will go in the same car with W. O. Jopllns lot. S. W. Street t scoured second call on jockev f!. Koerner for the Latonia meeting. J. J. Walsh will ship his string to Belmont Park at the conclusion of the present meeting, lie will race at the fall meeting on the metropolitan circuit, and then ship direct to San Francisco. It has been officially announced that William Shelly will be presiding judge at bofh thn New Orleans tracks, and that Clarence McDowell will be ins associate. Edward Magimi will act as secretary at both Uily Park and the Fair Grounds.
