Graves and Innes worked out their yearlings a few days since and the youngsters performed unusually clever. The bay colt by Gallantry, out of The Red Filly, by Trafalgar, stepped a fast quarter with 12!! pounds up and with the same weight in the saddle, the hav colt bv Miiddiison, oiit or Awful, by Ben Stroine, rail almost as fast. The bay lilly, by Plaudit, out of Follow, by Deceiver, was only asked to go an eighth, but she showed dazzling speed. This lilly Is a halt" sister to Hollow, a smart two-year-old winner tills season. All of these youngsters wore raised by Graves and are out of mares owned by that turfmaiu Trainer Innes expects to take this trio of two-year-olds to the metropolitan tracks early next spring. John Oflutt, who raced the brilliant horse Roxane several years ago, will lie out with u pair of nice two-year-olds next season: one of them Is a half-sister to the inare that gave him distinction 011 the turf. This colt Is a brown by the Austrilian-bred stallion Resolute II., and the other yearling he has just taken up is also by that sire, being a chestnut olt, out of Florence Darling, by Kantaka. OiTutt is a brotlier-in-law or the late Colonel .lames E. Pepper and was in charge of .leadowthorix Stud when Kings Courier. King Barleycorn, Prince Pep per. Black Venus. Whiskey King and other famous horses raced by Pepper, were raised there.
